Compounding Pharmacy Technician, Integrated Service Center - Full Time/Rotating Shift

Job Description


We are looking for quality minded individuals who have attention to detail and want to learn more about sterile compounding. Our demand is growing, and we need additional team members to support our Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and Batch Compounding sterile production. Our work occurs primarily during the day with shifts ranging from 8:30 to 5pm and 930 to 6pm. This position requires working every 4th weekend once training is completed. This work is very hands on and includes the opportunity to learn many different skills. Centralized compounding is a unique closed-door pharmacy department that services all of IU Health’s facilities including both inpatient and outpatient settings. 

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.   
  • Requires Indiana Pharmacy Tech-In Training OR Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.   
  • Requires Pharmacy Technician National Certification within one year of hire unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy or enrolled in or graduated from an ASHP/ACPE accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.   
  • Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.   
  • Requires strong mathematical calculation skills.
  • Requires ability to learn basic pharmacy technician skills in assigned areas and work under close supervision or under clearly defined procedures.
  • Requires ability to learn effective written and communication skills.   
  • Requires ability to learn and execute customer services skills.
  • Requires basic proficiency typing and using Microsoft office applications.
