Overview
This role is part of the Enteral Nutrition Services Intake Team. Processes incoming referrals for home nutrition services. Works with physician offices and other referral sources to coordinate care. Verifies patient coverage and benefits for enteral nutrition and supplies. Provides education to patients and caregivers to help them understand insurance coverage Provides education to patients and caregivers about transition to nutrition services at home. This is a work from home position after the initial in-office training period and passing a job competency exam. Responds to patient inquiries via telephone and email. Determines the best method for problem resolution meeting patient needs and organizational guidelines. Coordinates issue resolutions with other departments as necessary. Gathers patient personal and billing information for database entry and scheduling.
• Experience with enteral nutrition and/or referral intake a plus!
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 3-5 years of customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding required.
• Ability to type 30+ words per minute.
• Requires working knowledge of computers.
