Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our IS Informatics and Education’s leadership team in the role of Executive Director – Chief Nursing Information Officer.
The Executive Director – Chief Nursing Information Officer utilizes information structures, processes, and technology to guide the implementation and optimization of IU Health’s clinical information systems (CIS) across the care continuum system wide. The CNIO acts as a strategic partner in collaboration with Information Systems (IS), Nursing Leadership, Quality & Patient Safety and Clinical Enterprise leaders to plan, execute and evaluate workflows and clinical information management for the system. This role helps define and lead nursing and clinical governance and provides operational oversight of EHR system design and implementation, staffing, education, change management, and performance improvement in relation to nursing practice and care delivery. The CNIO advises on the sequencing for solution implementations, methodology, and key performance indicators, and guides the analysis from clinical informatics teams to drive workflow improvements and efficiencies. This position develops and leads a comprehensive nursing informatics program to support inter-professional, patient-focused care. This role serves as the principle for developing the strategic nursing informatics plan, analyzing data, crafting policies and procedures and is a champion for complex nursing projects and systems that support efficiency and effectiveness for end users, with the primary goal of advancing nursing evidence-based practice and outstanding patient care.
