The position is a day shift, 8AM-430PM M-F onsite at IU Simon Cancer Center.
The Operational Program Manager- Precision Genomics role has the responsibility to plan, organize and administer all of the services under the direction of or in cooperation with the medical leadership of the program for the Precision Genomics service line. Directs and coordinates activities professionals, and non-technical team members in pre-clinic workflow to support best practices and treatment of patients. The incumbent manages ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions. Works as a system leadership team member to identify best practices for the system including but not limited to physician satisfaction, quality and regulatory, and budget optimization. Responsible for activities, planning, organizing, budgeting and supervising all team members. The Program Manager partnership with leadership is charged with delivering strong performance across clinical quality and safety, patient satisfaction, team commitment and operations/finances for all areas of responsibility.
Drives the development, management, and coordination of program activities and services. Contributes to budgeting and resource allocation planning to ensure that the program meets the overall objectives and initiatives. Evaluates current practices; develops and implements a course of action to remedy any deficiencies with respect to departmental policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Acts a liaison to other departments and collaborates with internal and external partners ensuring the delivery of optimal service and/or patient care.
Preferred qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in with possible focuses in oncology navigation, pathology, or healthcare management related field required. A minimum of 2 years level of management experience is preferred.
Strong demonstrated transformational and complex, matrixed leadership skills (inspiring, problem solving, communication across multiple organizations, executing) to champion program excellence.
Requires experience managing multiple complex projects involving multiple customers/ platform vendors, interests and goals.
Requires strong understanding of data driven processes to administer change.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees, management and community leaders and a proven leader who is an effective, creative and visionary problem solver.
A proven leader of people is able to recruit, develop and mentor a top-notch team capable of supporting future growth and has demonstrated leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
