Overview

GI Oncology Nurse Navigator

Join our vibrant Gastrointestinal Oncology Program as an Oncology Nurse Navigator and become a key part of our multidisciplinary team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary Contact: Serve as the main point of contact for new GI Oncology patients, guiding them through their cancer journey with compassion and expertise.
  • Timely Access: Ensure patients receive prompt access to vital diagnostic tests and treatments, facilitating a smooth care experience.
  • Collaborative Coordination: Work closely with our dedicated teams of nurses and physicians to develop and implement personalized treatment plans.
  • Innovative Contributions: Engage in tumor board discussions, helping to shape innovative treatment strategies for complex cases.
  • Seamless Communication: Foster effective communication between nursing and physician teams to optimize patient care.

  • Access to world class Precision Oncology Program and clinical trials
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Specialty certifications may be required per unit/department specialty in accordance with the department provision of care.
  • Requires knowledge of personal computers using various types of word processing and database software.
  • Requires clinical work experience, medical terminology.
  • Requires understanding of medical record requirements, regulations and policies.
