Senior Fire Systems Technician - FT/Days - Methodist Hospital

Job Description

Overview

Troubleshoots, maintains, tests and repairs fire detection and suppression equipment. Follows appropriate preventative maintenance schedules to ensure proper maintenance and maximum life of the equipment. Reports problems through the work order system and suggests solutions to systems and equipment. Participates in the planning and execution process for remodeling and construction. Reviews new and retrofit building management systems pertaining to remodeling and long range planning projects. Coordinates or leads project plans when necessary. Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues and provides general leadership to the team. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree in applicable discipline preferred.
• Requires NICET certification.
• Requires related work experience in a commercial or construction environment working with electronic fire protection and sprinkler systems.
• Requires advanced knowledge of electrical and equipment repair.
• Requires the ability to read and interpret information from complex blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Requires current knowledge of various federal, state, local, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• Requires a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
