At IU Health West, Indiana's #1 healthcare system, we invite compassionate and dedicated nurses to join us as a Part-Time RN Lactation Consultant II. In this fulfilling role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting new families as they embark on their breastfeeding journeys. By providing essential infant feeding services through both inpatient and outpatient care, you can make a genuine difference in the lives of mothers and their babies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer comprehensive lactation support to families, helping them establish and maintain effective breastfeeding practices.
• Develop and implement innovative programs aimed at raising awareness about our lactation services.
• Create engaging educational materials tailored to a variety of audiences, promoting breastfeeding education and resources.
• Utilize your clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation to meet the unique needs of each patient and family.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care that achieves desired outcomes and fosters a supportive environment.
• Participate in decision-making processes, provide mentorship, and support the professional development of your team members.
• Uphold the highest standards of nursing practice in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Location: IU Health West, Avon, IN

Position Type: Part-Time (24 hours per week), Day Shift (days vary)

Qualifications:

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
• Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) or be certified within one year of hire.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires background working with childbearing families or maternal health nursing.
