Department Supported: Grants
Supports the development and execution of community outreach strategies, initiatives and events that align with IU Health community outreach priorities, in meeting the identified needs of the communities. Provides assistance to team member volunteer programs. Provides administrative coordination for the system team in areas such as meeting management, budget coordination, and ad hoc project support. Supports the assigned Manager and team in successfully executing initiatives and events.
This position is full-time with the home office being located in Paoli. The position covers Orange, Lawrence and surrounding counties. Hours are Mon-Fri business hours however some evening and weekend work is required.
A successful candidate in this position will enjoy building relationships with community organizations and individuals while possessing the ability to work independently. This role requires providing education and testing in the community for HIV, HCV and STIs. An additional responsibility will be working as a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS). Significant training is provided and previous experience is not required. What is important is a desire to learn, interest and comfort working with people from diverse backgrounds, and willingness to discuss sexual health and substance use from a harm reductionist perspective.
