The Radiation Physicist provides a full range of physics services to Radiation Therapy, involving, but not limited to, calibration, dosimetry, treatment planning, quality assurance, research/development, and simulation. This individual teaches residents, medical students, radiation therapy technology students, dosimetry students, physics residents, and other learners within the department.

If you were to join this team, you would have the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. You would be problem-solving with linear accelerators, radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, social workers, dietitians, oncology rehab, therapists, and nurses.

This role is a dynamic mix of independent work and collaboration. Along with being able to effectively work independently, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate and work with the team of radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and fellow physicist(s).

This is a salaried role that infrequently will require some weekend scheduled time for QA and project responsibilities.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Requires Indiana State Licensure as Physicist in Radiation Oncology
  • Requires MS or PhD in medical physics; physics; radiation biology or a related discipline or a combination of education and significant comparable experience in radiation therapy
  • Requires board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics
  • High Dose Rate (HDR) Authorized Medical Physics required
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Physicist in radiation medicine preferred
