We have an exciting nursing opportunity available in the OR Department as a RN - Clinical Specialty Coordinator

The RN Pediatric Specialty Coordinator coordinates a service line of care for a similar patient population of high acuity patients of all ages within their department. Responsibilities include extensive assessment and clinical judgment of physiological health care, monitoring the status and providing an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team. Serves as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit and system leadership activities as necessary to support the specific service line. Applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and is required to scrub and/or circulate. Responsible for developing a core curriculum, in conjunction with the clinical educator and system education, for the service line and oversees orientation of new staff and on-going staff education and evaluation of these programs within the service line. Acts as a role model, resource person, and member of the management team as well as keeping the organization Inc. Mission and Vision at the forefront of all patient care and system activities.

Requirements
  • Requires Bachelors of Nursing (BSN).
  • Requires at least 3-5 years experience in OR.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires the ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships with all levels of employees and management.
  • Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
  • Requires a high level of interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Requires Basic Life Support,(BLS)
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALs) certification through the AHA, preferred.
