Job Description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced RN to join our Research Team!

This position coordinates and leads administration and clinical aspects of research projects. Resolves operational and interdepartmental problems relating to projects. Communicates with investigators, external sponsor, ancillary departments, and supervisor regarding protocol and patient issues. Provides mentorship for other professionals in the facilitation of the research process.

  • Ensures accurate collection, processing & shipment of specimens & documentation. Communication with LAB, principal investigator and sponsor regarding LAB findings; records and documents protocol deviations; communicates with PI and sub-investigators about changes in trial.
  • Assists with preparing and submitting Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents
  • Schedules study-related meetings and training sessions and provides instruction to study team for specific assignments; educates staff regarding scientific aspects of study. Trains ancillary staff regarding clinical studies or trials; monitors study team compliance with requires procedures and GCP standards.
  • Manages research study inventory and supplies (medications, equipment, devices) and maintains required compliance documentation.
  • Assists with regulatory documents; patient schedules and prepares for monitor visits; prepares and responds to Sponsor and/or FDA audits.

Provides guidance for other professionals in the facilitation of the research process.

 Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires knowledge of FDA regulations to govern the conduct of research trials.
• Requires ability to perform physical assessment of patients.
• Requires phlebotomy skills to draw blood; start IVs.
• Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and applications.

**2 Years of Nursing Experience Preferred
