Job Description

Overview

The Program Coordinator - Clinical Specialty Coordinator provides administrative, business support and functional guidance to staff of the assigned NICU program at Riley Hospital for Children!  Provides assistance relating to operational and business functions; serves as a financial representative of the department; acts as a liaison to other departments; manages projects; acts as a resource for staff.  Should have extensive knowledge of the specialty service line and foundations of adult learning principles.   Responsibilities include:  Participates in the identification of opportunities for quality improvement processes and assists in the implementation of activities that reduce costs without altering service delivery or quality; serves as a clinical expert to the assigned clinical service line (unit) and is a strong leader in the unit as well as the system; serves as a consultant to central education to support a core curriculum for the specialty service line and helps to facilitate nursing checkoff’s and documentation; helps to facilitate orientation of new staff and on-going staff education; acts as a role model, expert resource and consultant to staff as well as the leadership team; serves as a change-agent on the unit; and, models excellence in professional nursing practices.  This position reports directly to the specialty service line director.  

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • 3-5 years of Level III or Level IV NICU experience preferred.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.   NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - preferred.
