The Pharmacy Manager will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy and its current four team members as well as serving the needs of the oncology outpatient infusion clinic and will also serve in a staff role occasionally. There is a potential for limited weekend hours in this working manager position. The Pharmacy Manager should be self-directed and require minimum support and oversight. This position will oversee many activities but is well supported by a wonderful team at White Memorial across all disciplines as well as a regional approach to pharmacy support.
This manager provides comprehensive medication-related care for the purpose of achieving definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life. Acts in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals in the responsibility for patient drug therapy outcomes. The Pharmacy Manager will work with other pharmacy leaders to coordinate care across the West Central Region and requires committee work on a local, regional and system level within IU Health. Assists the Director in complying with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Will assists in new process implementation and quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for inventory management and the ongoing financial performance of the pharmacy.
· Requires current Indiana license or eligibility for Indiana licensure as a Pharmacist.
· Requires PharmD or BS degree in Pharmacy.
· 5-7 years pharmacist experience is required.
· Management experience is preferred.
· Inpatient and outpatient pharmacy experience is ideal and preferred in order to assist with the support of oncology/outpatient infusion clinic needs.
· PGY1 residency training preferred.
· Requires knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to dispensing of drugs and narcotics.
· Basic Life Support certification required.
