RCS Sr. Project Manager – Business Development

Job Description

Overview

This position participates in managing, assessing, coordinating and reporting on various Revenue Cycle Services (RCS) projects of a confidential and often complex nature while using independent judgement, analytical ability and self-direction. This position is responsible for providing decision making, leadership and planning for operational improvement. Position is assigned higher complexity tasks than those expected from RCS - Project Managers and incumbents are held to higher productivity and quality standards. He/she works with RCS management and directors to coordinate projects as assigned. This position stays informed on assigned projects to ensure the organization is prepared to address and resolve issues and requests as necessary. Works independently and researches operational issues with little to no assistance. This position reviews and prepares project-related documents.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Serves as a process knowledge source and first level of escalation for project team.
  • Utilizes expertise to assist team with portfolio assignments.
  • Promotes Business Development objectives with team members, linking their work to department goals. 
  • Shares thoughts and information in a clear, concise and professional manner, in both oral and written communication formats.
  • Consistently demonstrates respect for others.  Appreciates diversity of thought, and actively fosters an atmosphere of inclusion.
  • Exhibits sound professional judgment and diplomacy in handling unexpected problems and frequent interruptions that require immediate attention, action or escalation to resolve.
  • Actively distinguishes questions, problems, and conflict. Combines existing knowledge and on-the-job experiences to ensure best practices are being implemented in day-to-day work.
  • Works with team members to develop and support project management solutions with sound methodologies, guidelines, and best practices. Makes decisions and solve problems within project plan parameters,  recognizes patterns, time sequences, events, or underlying issues.  Chooses the best alternative based on consideration of pros, cons, tradeoffs, timing, and available resources.
  • Collaborates on the team’s development of sustainable, documented processes, in alignment with the RCS PMO, and acts as an advocate for effective project management across the broader RCS organization.
  • Manages project budgets, and consistently applies principles of core business functions (finance, marketing, economics, technology, and business systems) to make sound judgments.
  • Designs and delivers strategies that place customers at the center of business decisions. Consistently identifies current and future customer needs and ensures the effective delivery of high quality and value added solutions, products, and services that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Partners with internal and external customers to assess communication needs on strategic projects, and assists team with devising comprehensive communications plans for distribution to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with team [management and peers], identifying operational improvement initiative opportunities.
  • Performs data gathering, analytics and reporting, providing input into executive leadership reporting and decision making. Assists in the development of strategic plans for the RCS Business Development organization.

Qualifications

 Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Requires 3+ years of project management experience.
• Requires facilitation skills to successfully organize and motivate an inter-disciplinary team to accomplish project goals in a tight timeframe.
• Requires ability to prioritize and process multiple complex projects; deadlines; and processes with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Requires ability to gain knowledge of system departments and affiliate organizations.
• Experience in Lean Six Sigma or other performance improvement methodologies preferred.
• Requires ability to maintain confidential communication and use judgment and discretion.
• Requires excellent written, verbal, presentation and customer service skills.
• Requires ability to exercise good judgment within established guidelines, and demonstrate maturity as a visible representative of the organization.
• Requires ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
