The Acuity Adaptable/ PCU Department is seeking expert and new/upcoming graduate nurses who will have the opportunity to collaborate with the brightest minds in medicine. This is a fully benefitted, full-time opportunity working Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 pm – 7:30 am with one 12 hour night shift during the week too! Our Special Weekend Option RNs are paid a premium rate for their weekend shifts!
IU Health West Hospital is a full-service 179 bed hospital for adults and children that continues to provide leading family-centered care in the heart of one of the fastest growing communities in Indiana since 2004. In 2019, West Hospital began an $83 million expansion that added three floors to two of its towers resulting in an additional 48 beds. All patient rooms are private to optimize comfort for each individual and their family, and our wealth of services includes intensive and progressive care units, medical-surgical units, maternity services and a special care nursery, technologically advanced surgical services, cardiac catherization labs serving interventional radiology cardiology and interventional radiology and 24/7 STEMI, on-site diagnostics, cancer services including on-site radiology oncology, women’s diagnostic services, a 24/7 emergency department with an observation unit serving adults and children, and an attached medical office building.

Our Magnet designated hospital specializes in life-threatening, emergent, and non-emergent conditions. The AAU/PCU has 32 private rooms for patients with a variety of diagnoses including cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, hematology/oncology and gastrointestinal with the goal being to minimize patient movement and create improved continuity of care. This new construction, with open lines of sight and private rooms, was created by the care team and patients to allow for ease of work for clinicians and increased patient comfort.
Once hired to a department, alongside nursing orientation, all new graduate nurses in their first nursing role will have the opportunity to participate in a Nurse Residency Program called "Transition to IU Health Nursing Practice." The Nurse Residency program goals are to provide socialization and support, enhance clinical judgment, and promote professional development.
