IU Health West Hospital is a full-service, 179 bed hospital for adults and children that provides leading-edge, family-centered care in Avon, Indiana - the heart of one of the fastest growing counties in the state. IU Health West recently completed an $83 million expansion to meet the demand for IU Health-quality care, close to home. All patient rooms are private to optimize comfort for each individual and their family. Our breadth of services includes intensive and progressive care units, medical-surgical units, maternity services and a special care nursery, technologically advanced surgical services, cardiac catherization labs serving interventional radiology cardiology and interventional radiology, , diagnostics, cancer services including on-site radiology oncology, and one of the IU Health system’s busiest emergency departments. IU Health West is the only 24/7 STEMI provider in Hendricks County.

This position exists to provide comprehensive, value based, medication-related care to achieve definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life. The incumbent acts in collaboration with healthcare professionals in the shared responsibility for patient drug therapy outcomes. Key job duties may consist of ensuring safety and effectiveness of the medication use process, processing and dispensing medications per order or prescription, medication therapy monitoring, regulatory compliance, maintaining oversight over pharmacist extenders, maintaining the security of medications, and protecting the confidentiality of patient information. Additionally, is competent at providing drug information support for medical staff, ensuring continuity of care, and identifying potential challenges in common situations.
