Job Description

Overview

The Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible for driving the HR strategy and anticipating needs for Riley Children’s Health through partnership with system and regional leadership. This will be accomplished by:

  • Prioritizing initiatives that support the success of the organization and driving effective results through strategic resource planning and development.
  • Leading an HR team that delivers comprehensive HR support to the region including the support of talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, talent review, compensation, and benefit processes and initiatives.
  • Partnering with executive leaders to plan and execute system and regional initiatives such as talent review, succession planning, engagement, organizational design and development, and other various HR initiatives across the region.
  • Providing career development, coaching, and consultation, while serving as a trusted business partner to senior leadership by addressing strategic needs, as well as high priority, sensitive issues requiring immediate attention.

In addition, this leader will have the opportunity to focus on three key areas of human resources:

  • Driving team member engagement and retention efforts at the regional level that align with system priorities and initiatives
  • Building on the region’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in support of creating a more inclusive workplace, in partnership with the Office for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Ensuring the design and implementation of effective leadership development and succession planning strategies, in partnership with the Learning Institute

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant human resources experience is required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a matrix organization and complex environment required.
  • Experience in leading the design, development, and execution of human resource programs across all areas of HR is required.
  • Experience coaching and developing professional at all levels of an organization is required.
  • Ability to guide the application of HR regulations and laws is required (e.g. FLSA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, etc.)
  • Healthcare industry leadership experience is preferred.
