Job Description

Overview

Provides patient care by instructing, monitoring and recording patient's responses to a rehabilitation program that has been developed by an exercise physiologist and/or a physician. Trains and demonstrates proper exercise techniques and equipment use. Instructs patients in safe exercise routines. Utilizes skills to determine the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self care, cultural, ethnic and spiritual and educational needs of the client/family/significant other to develop, implement and revise the plan of care. Including assessment, obtaining vital signs, lifestyle modification education, monitoring heart rythms and reporting/managing irregular heart rhythms. Computer skills-ability to naviagate electronic medical record; ability to check patient vital signs are required. Willingness to work as a team, flexible, ability to talk/develop relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds/cultures.

 Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field required.
•May require ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support through the AHA within 1 year of hire. May require ECG course review.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
