Overview

IU Health West Hospital is a full service hospital located in Avon, Indiana. Just a few miles from IU Health’s downtown Indianapolis academic and research hospitals and Riley Hospital for Children, we serve the residents of the Indianapolis west side, Hendricks County and beyond!

IU Health West is also growing. The expansion will add 48 inpatient beds (ICU and acuity-adaptable), a new operating room, cath lab capacity and additional parking. It will include expansion of support services space, such as in-patient pharmacy and food services, to accommodate additional staff and higher patient volumes.

The Manager - Pharmacy Operations position exists to provide for the effective recruitment, retention, supervision and leadership of assigned employees in the Pharmacy Department. Manages ongoing analysis, development, and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions.

Please note this is a Pharmacy Technician Manager role, that will be primarily Monday-Friday dayshifts. The position is responsible for the oversight and leadership of the Inpatient Pharmacy Technician team at IU Health West Hospital. 

 BS degree in Pharmacy or related field preferred. Requires current Indiana license or eligibility for Indiana licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred. Requires knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to dispensing of drugs and narcotics.
• Requires knowledge of pharmacy and hospital computer systems and computer-assisted devices.
• Requires knowledge in business applications.
• Requires ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources.
• Requires ability to facilitate and lead work groups.
• Requires ability to apply the organization personnel policies and procedures.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires strong customer service skills.
• Requires ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
• Requires ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
• Requires a high level of interpersonal; problem solving and analytical skills.
• Requires ability to be involved in multiple tasks/projects.
• Requires close attention to detail.
• Requires strong personnel management and organizational skills.
• Requires ability to integrate new information into practice.
• Requires ability to recognize opportunities for improvement.
