Job Description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who will have the opportunity to collaborate with the brightest minds in medicine! We have an exciting RN Shift Coordinator opportunity!

At our IU Health Bloomington Urgent Care Facility, we have a highly motivated team who is looking for a strong leader. Candidates for the Shift Coordinator role should be willing to jump in with them team when needed, and also help lead the facility through continued success.

This position has responsibility that includes, but is not limited to: coordinating team assignments, team scheduling, helping to resolve billing issues, covering for call-offs, training clinical team, maintaining annual clinical competencies for team, helping with inventory and ordering, and proactively supporting activities to ensure the highest physician, patient, and family satisfaction.

Schedule:  Monday through Friday, with one weekend per month and some holiday requirement

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Current nursing license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana required.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE.
  • RN Urgent Care, RN Primary Care, or RN ER/Inpatient experience preferred.
  • Experience level to support a highly skilled ability to lead and to provide effective clinical reasoning, decision-making and clinical thinking.
  • A high standard of interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to recognize and respect cultural diversity.
  • Dedication to goal-directed, quality patient care outcomes.
  • Ability to plan and manage resource utilization.
  • Ability to maintain standards of patient confidentiality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills, with special emphasis on patient/family-centered care.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
  • Ability to take initiative and plan care toward quality patient outcomes.
  • Previous experience in a primary care of walk-in clinic setting preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
