Overview

A Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a Masters prepared Advance Practice Registered Nurse whose function is to improve outcomes in patient care.  Functioning in five sub roles including: Expert in Clinical Practice, Educator, Leader, Researcher and Consultant, who positively influence the three spheres of practice: Patient Care, Nursing, and Systems in their respective specialties. 

Riley Hospital for Children is seeking a perioperative CNS who has clinical experience in surgical services.  Pediatric experience is not a must, but certainly a plus! 

• Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.  Master in nursing as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) required.
• Requires current state of Indiana licensure as a Registered Nurse and meets regulatory requirements to practice as a CNS.
• Requires 3-5 years of advanced clinical skills typically gained through nursing experience.
• Perioperative/surgical clinical experience preferred.  
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
