Job Description

Overview

Performs designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of the clinician(s). Assists the clinician to provide safe mobility and positioning of the patient as needed. Maintains and cleans treatment areas and equipment. Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required. Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies. May perform scheduling, customer service and some clerical duties.
Role is imbedded into nursing department care deliver model and includes assisting Nursing, Patient Care Assistants, in collaboration with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists with direct patient care, including lifting equipment, cleaning and stocking of supplies. This part-time (24 hours per week) or supplemental (0.1 FTE minimum of 12 hours per 6 week schedule) is located in our Nationally ranked downtown Academic Hospital. Includes some Weekends and Holidays rotations.  Weekends only option available upon request. This part-time positon comes with company benefits.

 

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires successful completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Rehab experience preferred.
• Requires familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.• High School Diploma or GED is required.
