Job Description

Overview

Provides education for a variety of Emergency Response and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education programs and other educational offerings by facilitating educational opportunities for learners. Plans, implements, and evaluates the curriculum and instructional materials for educational offerings. Uses principles/methodology of adult education to facilitate learning and create a safe and effective learning environment. Provides oversight of program participants, diagnosis of learner needs, identification / implementation of solutions and evaluation of meeting learner needs.
 Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years of experience in education or related field.
• Requires current Indiana EMT-P certification; Primary Instructor, PHTLS, and AMLS Instructor certifications preferred.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALs) certification through the AHA; other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience including 2+ years of EMS and trauma related experience or equivalent; 4+ years prehospital, air medical, or emergency department experience preferred.
• Requires knowledge of EMS systems and operations.
• Requires knowledge of teaching; training facilitation; and presentation techniques.
• Requires ability to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and training resources.
• Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and applications.
