Job Description

Overview

The Vice President for Community Health (CH) will partner with key internal and external stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive community health strategy for the Indiana University Health system. The strategy will encompass the following priorities:  reducing infant mortality, improving behavioral health, combatting tobacco addiction, reducing obesity and addressing social determinants of health. Initial focus will be on operationalizing Indiana University Health’s (IUH) community health programs in response to identified community needs. The incumbent will ensure system execution of the strategy, including accomplishment of key annual and multi-year operational and health outcome objectives. 

The Vice President will also lead the systems Community Outreach and Engagement team, overseeing completion of the systems community needs assessment, community benefit report and overall community outreach efforts, including the annual day of service.  In addition, this role will lead the Community Health operations team responsible for IUH’s community health programs.

Community Health is an integral part of the System Health Solutions (SHS) division within Indiana University Heath.  SHS was formed in 2015 and is charged with making high quality care more accessible and affordable, creating a more seamless customer experience and developing new care models and capabilities that improve health of our patients and communities.  

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Master's Preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Require demonstrated ability to understand and operate within regulatory framework and within a highly complex, matrix organization. 
  • Require analytical capabilities, the ability to problem solve to formulate a plan of action. 
  • Require ability to lead cross-functional work teams. 
  • Require strong interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Require strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Requires knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
