Job Description

Overview

The Director – Nursing Professional Development for the South Central Region will be responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of a program creating nursing education scholars advancing the science of nursing and patient education. This leader will serve as a liaison with schools of nursing and creating the environment where the organization nurses support academic practicum experiences and serve as preceptors, instructors, adjunct faculty, or faculty (ANCC, 2008). The Director will oversee professional placement, training, and evaluation of assignments for employees and students. They will also be responsible for creating a system wide evidence-based patient education experience reflecting health literacy literature and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities

  • Masters or Nursing or related field required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license to practice in the state of Indiana is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA required and any other certifications required by patient care policies.
  • Completion of Clinical Specialty Professional Certification within 1 year upon meeting eligibility requirements.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
