Job Description

Overview

Performs daily activities related to the acquisition and disposal of goods, services and equipment. Ensures that all efforts are exhausted to obtain quality product or service and capital purchases on-time and at the best price. Effectively coordinates procurement activities between all relevant internal and external parties with particular emphasis on the requester, account payable, receiving, inventory management, material management system support, vendors, customer service representatives, and other organization ancillary support areas. Reviews and processes requisitions, orders, captial aquistions, vendor returns, and product recalls in a timely manner. Ensures complete resolution of open orders and backorders. Supports the maintenance of the information system database. Trains procurement team members on system applications and provides back up support for Buyer I as needed.
 High School Diploma/GED required. Associates Degree preferred.
• 5-10 years of relevant purchasing experience.
• Requires advanced knowledge of all facets of Materials Management; including procurement; capital acquisition; logistics; facility operations; supply chain management and accounts payable functions.
• Requires strong computer skills and thorough understanding of Materials Management Computer Systems.
