Job Description

Overview

The Program Director for System Nursing will oversee the design, implementation, management, communication, and evaluation of IU Health's nursing programs. This leader will drive strategic initiatives and ensure benefit alignment with organizational strategy and goals. The Program Director will facilitate regular meetings, as well as establish and maintain metrics, and identify and coordinate resolving issues. This leader will demonstrate financial acumen and articulate value of initiatives. They work effectively across leadership teams to drive outcomes, and participate in decision-making and strategic planning which includes the effective and efficient use of resources.

  • Developing an innovative workforce strategy aimed at ensuring a highly qualified nursing workforce that meets the needs our patients and communities to make Indiana one of the nation’s healthiest states
  • Strengthening interdisciplinary partnerships between nursing and key stakeholders such as pharmacy, finance, supply chain, legal, and quality and safety
  • Serving as a system nursing partner to the human resources functions including talent acquisition, HR business partners, and total rewards team

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities:

  • Master's Degree is required. RN preferred.  
  • Requires 7-10 years of relevant and complex project management experience. 
  • Program management experience is required. 
  • Healthcare industry experience is preferred. 
  • Requires experience working in a complex, matrix environment

Key Relationships

Reports to: Vice President, Associate Chief Nurse Executive - Operations 

Direct reports: This is an individual contributor role. 

Other Key Relationships: Chief Nurse Executive, Regional Chief Nursing Officers, Nursing Leadership, Pharmacy, Quality & Safety, Supply Chain, HR, Finance, Legal
