Job Description

Overview

The Vice President, LifeLine, Home Products, and Sleep is responsible for driving the growth and operations for the following state-wide service lines: LifeLine helicopter and ground transport, enteral nutrition, infusion pharmacy, home products, and sleep/respiratory therapy. These services support IU Health’s network of hospitals as the largest health care system in Indiana with approximately 36,000 team members. The leader is expected to partner with senior administrative and clinical leadership across IU Health focused on operational excellence and the development of new service areas, for example negative pressure wound therapy and non-invasive ventilation. This position will have 5 direct reports with an organization size of approximately 660 team members.  The position will report to the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations.

LifeLine, Home Products, and Sleep are an integral part of the System Health Solutions (SHS) division within Indiana University Heath which delivered $1.2B in net revenue in 2020.  SHS was formed in 2015 and is charged with making high quality care more accessible and affordable, creating a more seamless customer experience, and developing new care models and capabilities that improve health of our patients and communities.

The candidate for this role will be an accomplished healthcare executive who can work effectively in a highly matrixed and relationship-driven culture.  The candidate must be a visionary leader who knows how to effectively drive change in a complex and distributed yet system-oriented environment.  The VP LifeLine, Home Products, and Sleep must embody IU Health’s mission, embrace its vision, and must lead through respect, humility, and intellectual curiosity. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in business management or health administration, or related field highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a health-related environment is required. 
  • Experience in home products and/or transport service line is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and operate within regulatory framework and within a highly complex, matrix organization.
  • Requires analytical capabilities and problem solving to form a plan of action.
  • Requires ability to lead cross-functional work teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Require strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
