Service Line Administrator- Emergency Medicine

Job Description

Overview

Serves as an influential and strategic leader across the service line, this position is responsible for the long-term vision and execution of patient service integration across the core departments for the assigned service line. Responsible in increasing market share by leading collaborative and strategic partnerships with program leaders, hospital leadership and physicians to optimize patient experience in results, efficiencies and value. Through the incumbent's efforts, the service line will become known as a preeminent level of service in the community and a value-based options seek out when deciding upon their healthcare needs.

Accountable for operational and financial performance results of Emergency Departments as it relates to the Physician Group.

Service Line Administrator will lead the Emergency Medicine specialty within Community Medicine.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or other closely related field. Master of Health Administration or Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
  • Requires 7-10 years of experience as a Health Professional.
  • A minimum of five years of progressively more responsible related work experience in an ambulatory setting with three to five years of concurrent management experience in order to gain knowledge of administration and operation of physician practices.
  • Clinical leadership experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of health care delivery and management, basic accounting and finance, and health care legislation.
  • Requires knowledge of benchmarking and Best Practice research.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications is required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • Requires ability to facilitate and lead groups and programs.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact in complex situations, work cooperatively with peers, clinicians, and senior leadership.
  • Requires strong analytical, project management, and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative.
  • Prefers Healthcare leadership experience.
  • Prefers experience in Emergency Medicine, Facility or Provider Operations.
