Job Description

Overview

Reporting directly into the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, the Vice President of Talent Acquisition will develop and execute the organization’s system-wide strategies in support of the full talent acquisition life cycle for IU Health. They will be responsible for leading a team that fills all open positions across the system. The Vice President of Talent Acquisition will accomplish this through:

  • Partnering with Human Resources leadership and key business executives to advance staffing plans and strategies that will ensure high quality, diverse, and cultural/organizational fit throughout the recruitment and hiring process, as well as support peak hiring trends.
  • Improving the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process across the health system to be innovative, candidate-friendly, and expeditious – providing the organization with a competitive advantage in the healthcare recruitment space.
  • Developing a system recruitment strategy that will build and maintain active diverse candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill, high volume, and/or critical positions.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service with a primary focus on operational excellence, proactive, competitive, and cost-effective recruitment solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining networking relationships with community organizations, colleges and universities, alumni organizations, industry organizations, team members and colleagues’ contacts to help identify and source qualified talents.
  • Ensuring OFCCP, ADA/EEO guidelines are enforced and abided, ensuring staffing requirements are met in accordance with legal guidelines. Ensuring all regulatory requirements and guidelines for the talent acquisition process are met.

 

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, related field, or equivalent years of experience required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in matrix organization and complex work environment is required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading teams, especially through change and the implementation of new programs and processes.
  • Desire to lead through the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Upholds an executive presence and can speak to large groups as well as inspire action toward achieving system and regional initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker who has a successful track record in effectively leading through influence.
  • Strong collaborator and relationship builder, who values a culture of teamwork.
  • Understands how to partner with and influence key stakeholders to drive progress as well as advise and lead change.
  • Creative and flexible approach to developing and accessing new ideas as well as able to navigate ambiguous situations.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo with executive leaders to encourage thinking differently.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functions of a highly matrixed, complex organization.
  • Self-starter who thrives on taking initiative as well as pivoting between strategic big picture thinking and executing on projects and details.
  • Metrics driven, with the ability to organize, analyze, and make decisions based on sound data.
  • Commitment to “systemness” and the ability to make decisions based on the goal of developing a high quality, efficient health care system that will meet the overall vision of IU Health.
  • Possesses the highest personal integrity and ethics.
