The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

We are open 24 hr/7 days a week

No scheduled weekends

12-24 hours of call in a 6 week period

1 holiday a year (12 Hour shift) which can be traded

This is a fast-paced unit (Phase 2 recovery of patients), requiring assessment skills, multi-tasking and Customer relation skills. 

Some of the duties include: Greeting patients who come in the day of surgery, preparing them for going back to surgery, filling out the Cerner record by asking questions, preparing them for surgery by getting them dressed, wiping them down for surgery etc. drawing labs, placing IV etc.

Hours: (2) 12-hour shifts per week shifts TBD. On call is 1 night every 2 weeks from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Some Saturday call from 6-2, 3 to 4 times a year/currently we have enough staff to cover this on the weekends so no one is taking Saturday call. No holidays and no scheduled weekends. 

Experience: Experience nurses preferred with med surg background.  2-4 years floor/PCU/ICU experience is preferred. 


  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
