Our Emergency Department at IU Health Bloomington offers a 24-hour provision of patient care services to populations ranging from infant to elderly. With a RN to patient ratio of 1:4, it is focused on addressing the most urgent and relevant clinical needs of patients during their visit. Our IU Health Bloomington ED is a verified level III Trauma Center and averages 50,000 patients' visits annually. It is also a regional referral center for stroke, cardiac and sexual assault patient care. The ED Clinician works with a strong team of providers including IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians Emergency Medicine, physician assistants as well as nurse practitioners, clinical pharmacists, SANE and mental health specialists. The ER nurses must obtain ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications with additional opportunities to participate in specialty training in areas such as Emergency Nurse Pediatrics, and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Training.

If this sounds like the right fit, please apply!

We offer medical, dental, vision, 401K, a generous PTO plan and tuition reimbursement.

  • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Safeguarding our patients and each other is an important part of how we deliver the best care possible to the communities we serve. As a condition of employment, IU Health requires all new hires to receive various vaccinations, including the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines, barring an approved exemption. New hires will also be provided the option to submit proof of previous vaccination.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity and inclusion at IU Health.
