Overview

The Vice President of Operations for the IU Health Foundation will lead with passion and commitment to enhance health and well-being while inspiring generosity across the state of Indiana. Reporting directly into the Chief Philanthropy Officer and President of IU Health Foundation, this leader will serve as a member of the Foundation’s executive team and partner with Foundation leadership to oversee the strategic and successful execution of the critical operational components of philanthropy in support of IU Health’s mission, vision, and values. The Vice President will ensure the successful implementation of the IU Health strategic plan with a focus on the overarching priorities, goals and activities that drive and impact Philanthropy. This leader will be accountable for a total of approximately ~20 team members who design, develop, and execute key operational program areas positioned to support the fundraising work of the Foundation, ensure maximum fundraising impact and drive steady growth in philanthropic performance.

Other opportunities include:

  • Overseeing operational strategic planning and execution, data and analytics, donor experience, communications, and the development and maintenance of standardized processes and new technologies.
  • Setting the tone for internal activities of IU Health Foundation, emphasizing the implementation of innovative and creative solutions to foster a customer service approach in support of fundraising teams, fund holders, internal stakeholders system and regional leaders.
  • Developing and enhancing the operational arm of the Foundation by planning, tracking, and reviewing processes and policies to ensure effective team execution toward fundraising goals.
  • Engaging in collaboration inside the Foundation and across IU Health to promote a culture of giving, including efforts with system Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations teams to enhance and build greater visibility through digital communications, social media, and other cultivation tools.
  • Partnering closely with key stakeholders such as partners in Human Resources, Finance, Information Systems to ensure Foundation processes are aligned with IU Health resources and strategies.
  • Collaborating with the IU Health Foundation team and enterprise partners to ensure adequate progress and continuous improvement on programs and initiatives in working toward annual dashboard,  3-year strategic plan goals and a 10-year long range financial plan
  • Serving as a leader for philanthropic activity and to identify needs, resources, priorities, strategies, and long-term direction to ensure a commitment to philanthropy

 

Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's preferred.
  • Requires 7-10 years of relevant operational leadership experience in an organization that has demonstrated success raising gifts of six to seven-figures and above.
  • Prefers experience in the academic health care environment.
  • MBA, MHA or philanthropic accreditation/certification (FAHP or CFRE) desired.
  • Requires experience managing multiple complex projects involving multiple customers, interests and goals.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees, management, and community leaders.
  • Requires knowledge of industry issues, demonstrated experience and results.
  • A proven leader is able to recruit, develop, and mentor a top-notch team capable of supporting future growth. Demonstrated leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
