Job Description

Overview

Represents and advises in all corporate legal matters. Handles a wide range of legal responsibilities as assigned with emphasis on legal matters related to the organization's Liability Litigation and Captive Insurance. Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory requirements, including but not limited to compliance with IRS, HIPAA, Stark, and Fraud and Abuse statues and regulations.

This position will handle initial investigation and in house management of general liability claims and professional liability claims.  They will also oversee outside counsel for general liability claims and professional liability claims.  The candidate will also offer support and advice on a variety of IU Health legal matters related to healthcare, risk and litigation issues. Experience in professional liability defense is preferred.

 Juris Doctor degree required from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
• Requires law license in good standing in Indiana.
• Preference for 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Requires broad general background in business and civil law.
• Healthcare background is preferred.
