Oversees and coordinates the daily 24-hour clinical services of hospital pharmacy and staff, including all acute care services for IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. Provides comprehensive medication-related care for the purpose of achieving outcomes that improve patients’ quality of life and advance pharmacy practice. Acts in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers in the responsibility for patient drug therapy outcomes. Regularly partners with Pharmacy Operations to advance service delivery. Is responsible for assisting the Director of Pharmacy- Clinical Services with preparing and performing activities involving the pharmacy and therapeutics committee. Assists the Director in complying with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Will assist in new process implementation and quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for medication utilization management and the ongoing financial performance of the pharmacy department. Supports the professional development of approximately 30-35 clinical pharmacists and team leads.

  • Requires current Indiana license or eligibility for Indiana licensure as a Pharmacist
  • Requires PharmD or BS degree in Pharmacy
  • 5 - 7 years pharmacist experience is required
  • PGY1 Pharmacy Residency required; PGY2 Pharmacy residency preferred.
  • Board Certification preferred
  • Inpatient clinical practice experience (direct patient care) required
  • Requires knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to dispensing of drugs and narcotics
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Leadership experience is preferred
