Managed Care Account Executive

Job Description

Overview

The position of Managed Care Account Executive will support the development and execution of contracting (including renewal) strategy, adhering to departmental pricing policy and preferred contract terms.  Establishes and supports working relationships with managed care payers and effectively balances demands of multiple accounts to ensure timeliness, contract compliance and performance results.  Monitors and identifies potential issues with managed care payers. Supports the organization in understanding potential impacts to ensure appropriate issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, health administration or a related field required.
  • Requires 3-5 years proven experience in healthcare or managed care.
  • Requires knowledge of health care insurance industry and managed care industry practices.

Contracting and Negotiation

  • Primary contact with assigned payers
  • Review contractual language and edit related documents
  • Negotiate terms and rates for amendment to existing agreements and for new payer relationships

Problem Resolution

  • Work with both internal and external business partners to identify and resolve contractual and claims processing issues
  • Coordinate and/or participate in both in-person and telephonic meetings with payers
  • Interface with the Payer Operational Performance team to assess payer’s compliance with contractual obligations. 

Individual Case Agreements & Specialty/Vendor Agreements

  • Serve as primary point of contact
  • Route appropriately and update relevant parties
  • Work with Vendor Billing team to coordinate contracting efforts
  • Contact vendors in need of contract and negotiate language and rates
