Apply for a Director of Information Services for an opportunity to lead IU Health’s informatics team into the future! This position will be located onsite in Indianapolis.

The Director of informatics leads a team of informatics managers and educational team members across IU Health. Working in partnership with a peer Director, Associate Chief Medical Information Officers and local clinical operational leadership, this leader delivers innovative clinical IS projects and work. A successful candidate will have experience leading informatics teams and balancing multiple dependencies / work threads as well as have experience delivering education on clinical systems to end users at scale. In this role you will be part of the Enterprise Informatics leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of shaping the future of informatics at IU Health! The Director of Informatics reports to the Vice President and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer. 

Manages the operational health and stability of assigned IS teams and resources. Ensures that IS informatics projects and investment outcomes conform to business and clinical needs. Builds relationships with business and clinical team members by working with peers to ensure human and financial resources are effectively deployed, establishing metrics and tracking improvement trends, and coaching, motivating, and requiring personal accountability and leadership within their organizations. Maintains and communicates a vision for their area of responsibility, pushes for the change necessary to achieve this vision, and demonstrates consistency in meeting their commitments.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Clinical licensure RN or like preferred.
  • Certification in informatics or like preferred.
  • Requires 7-10 years of relevant management experience in a business or clinical systems environment and familiarity with process/performance improvement methodologies, system implementations, and workflow analysis.
  • Requires prior management experience in a complex, matrix organization.
  • Requires a demonstrated fundamental understanding of project accounting and financial management.
  • Knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines preferred.
  • Preferred experience with contractor and vendor management.
