The Med Surg Department is seeking expert and new graduate nurses who will have the opportunity to collaborate with the brightest minds in medicine.

We have exciting full-time, day shift nursing opportunity in our IU Health West Hospital Med Surg unit. Our magnet designated hospital specializes in life-threatening, emergent, and non-emergent conditions.

Our Adult Surgical Step-down Unit is a 32-bed Med/Surg surgical unit, which consists of orthopedic, gynecological, breast, and other general surgeries, post op. Staff are comprised of RN, PCA, PCI, and US. RNs mostly interact with surgeons, hospitalists, and rehabilitation services.

Once hired to a department, alongside nursing orientation, all new graduate nurses in their first nursing role will have the opportunity to participate in a Nurse Residency Program called "Transition to IU Health Nursing Practice." The Nurse Residency program goals are to provide socialization and support, enhance clinical judgment, and promote professional development.

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
