Quality Assurance Coordinator (Lab Administration)

Job Description

The laboratories of IU Health offer some of the most comprehensive laboratory services in Indiana! Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the laboratories perform more than 19 million tests a year. In addition to IU Health, laboratory testing services are provided to hospitals and physicians across the country.

The Quality Assurance Coordinator ensures that system laboratory operations are in compliance with the Quality Management System policies/procedures, applicable regulatory/accreditation agency standards and Safety Plan. Conducts scheduled audits, including effectiveness checks. Identifies and investigates non-conformances, follows-up with responsible departments. Supports the execution of improvement initiatives, measures and programs related to process improvement, quality, compliance, service management, and customer satisfaction. While working independently, continues to work effectively with teams in order to collaborate with OCAQ management and peers. Supports decisions and performs services necessary to meet the needs of the organization's patients, medical staff, management and employees.

Some Travel within the DPLM Laboratory System is required. 


 Bachelor's of Science in Medical Technology or scientific health-related discipline; License/certification preferred. Ability to acquire knowledge in performing audits; must have understanding of applicable regulations/guidelines to interpret audit findings.
• Requires knowledge of all laboratory safety regulations and protocols.
• Requires (4) years of relevant experience; Experience in Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) processes; Experience creating and maintaining policies/procedures.
