Job Description

Overview

The Director of Marketing for value-based care (VBC) plays a key role in the successful evolution of improving access, affordability, and overall experience for all patients we serve at IU Health. The leader supports IU Health Plans and Population Health by developing and implementing marketing strategies and plans to achieve the objectives for IU Health’s value-based care annual and long-term goals which include:

  • Increasing membership for IU Health Plans products (Medicare Advantage, Commercial)
  • Developing and communicating the compelling story of value-based care to external and internal audiences in collaboration with cross functional leaders and teams
  • Establish a strong and effective partnership with the IU health physician community
  • Support the success of CMS and other risk-based arrangements via effective communication to key stakeholders
  • Support population health initiatives and business objectives for new models of delivering care

A critical skill for success in this role will be the development of strong partnerships with business leaders (across levels and functions) to help set the vision for the teams and integrate customers, market and competition understanding as part of strategic decision making. As a leader of a group of engaged marketers, the Director of Marketing for VBC, also establishes policy and direction for their department, coordinates budgets, brand planning and advertising, and is accountable for the engagement of their team and department results.

Reports to: Executive Director-Marketing

Direct reports: 1 System Marketing Manager and 3 Brand Managers

 Bachelors Degree Required. Masters Preferred.
• Degree in Marketing, Business, Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Requires 3+ years of direct supervisory leadership experience in a healthcare-related industry.
• Requires leadership experience in a matrix organization and complex work environment.
• Requires knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
