Job Description

Overview

The Senior Internal Auditor (IT) is responsible for performing individual internal audit projects as part of the total Internal Audit plan.  This position will primarily focus on IT audit engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Develops internal audit scope, performs internal audit procedures, and prepares internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed.
  • Work performed will include coverage of functional and operating units with a primary focus on IT operational processes.
  • Proactively perform follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues.
  • Directs and review the work performed by other internal audit personnel, including resources from the co-sourcing firm (as applicable). May serve as either engagement staff or an “Engagement Lead” depending on the overall resource plan and/or subject matter expertise.
  • Works independently and with minimal day-to-day supervision during fieldwork.
  • Conducts detailed engagement-level risk assessments consistent with audit engagement objectives.
  • Performs audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, reviewing and analyzing evidence and documenting client processes and procedures. Properly differentiates high-risk from moderate and low risks.
  • Conducts interviews, reviews documents, composes summary memos and prepares workpapers. Ensures that workpapers support any findings and conclusions.
  • Develops and maintains productive team-oriented client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
  • Addresses problems directly and resolves client questions as needed.
  • Assists in communicating the results of audit and consulting engagements via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to management.
  • Pro-actively communicates any changes that could impact the timeline in completing the audit engagement in alignment with the audit plan.
  • Adheres to the Internal Audit methodology. 
  • Need to have a good understanding of IT and related management frameworks standards such as COBIT, ITIL, SOX, and HIPAA.
  • Prior experience with IT General Control testing and/or ERP systems is desired.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. 
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Requires a CPA, CIA, CISA, CHIAP, or CMA designation.
