Medical Director-Quality and Population Health

Job Description

Overview

The Medical Director of Quality & Population Health works to develop, coordinate and oversee medical services and quality of the organization that assure a multidisciplinary, comprehensive, patient-oriented approach to care that is compatible with and supportive of the patient care, teaching and research missions of the organization, Indiana University School of Medicine, the organization, and other major affiliates of those entities. With the goal to achieve the quadruple aim of improving quality and outcomes of care, patient satisfaction, provider satisfaction which reducing the cost of care. The Medical Director of Quality & Population Health is responsible for the appropriateness, quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the medical care delivered by the organization physicians and may serve as representative of the organization to other entities. Provides leadership and oversight of quality and population health programs and initiatives for the organization.

Qualifications/Skills/Experiences:

  • Requires a Medical Degree with board certification and licensure to practice in the State of Indiana.
    • Must maintain active status as Medical Staff of the organization.
  • Must maintain fill-time faculty appointment with Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM).
  • Requires at least 10 years of experience in health care administration with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Requires ability to work with individuals at multiple levels within and external to the organization.
  • Requires ability to work with tact and confidentiality with respect to multiple physician and organizational issues.

Reports to: President – Community Health

Direct Reports: Director of Quality, Risk, Safety & Clinical Services
