Job Description

Overview

This position is for the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Beltway Ambulatory Surgery Center in the Operating Room (circulating/scrubbing).  IHTS Beltway ASC is a small and endearing place in which you work closely with each area’s team members.  This facility is an outpatient surgery setting working with eleven surgeons who specialize in surgeries of the hand and upper extremity.   The IHTS Beltway Surgery Center performs approximately 4,000 cases per year providing surgeries from fingertip to shoulder including bone, soft tissue, plastic repair, nerve, and vascular repairs plus arthroscopic procedures.  New grads and those without peri-op experience are welcome to apply.  * No weekends, holidays, or call responsibilities.*

Working as an essential member of the management team, this individual will assist with coordinating the daily operations within the surgery center.  Responsibilities include managing the surgery and staff schedules and working as part of the healthcare team to provide exceptional customer service to physicians, patients and visitors.  This individual serves as a clinical expert to assigned staff and must be a strong unit leader and perform unit and system leadership activities as necessary to support the surgery center.  The individual must be able to demonstrate strong initiative and apply advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty.  On occasion, this position may require scrubbing and/or circulating.  The individual must have excellent people skills and will be  responsible for working with vendors, contracted services, and the supply chain to ensure that the surgery center has the resources necessary to be successful.  The individual will be responsible for developing a core curriculum, in conjunction with the clinical educator, system education, and local management of the surgery center.  Also this position oversees orientation of new staff and on-going staff education and evaluation of these programs within the surgery center.  Active involvement with the surgery center programs as dictated by regulatory and accrediting bodies is a must.  The individual must act as a role model, resource person, and member of the management team as well as keeping the organization Inc. Mission and Vision at the forefront of all patient care and system activities.

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Masters of Nursing preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
