Clinical Nurse-Quality Coordinator

Job Description

Overview

Develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates the continuous quality improvement activities for assigned populations. Works independently and leads specific work groups. Performs ongoing analysis of gaps in clinical care and barriers to care, aligning interventions with the strategic plan. Facilitates the organization's performance improvement process in collaboration with project team leader(s). Conducts training/education programs for the organization staff and physicians in performance improvement methodologies, data analysis, data processing, work simplification techniques, as well as other subjects related to performance improvement. This position also facilitates the analysis of medical staff quality and performance data for the organization through coordination of information including data collection, analysis and trending of required medical staff quality and peer review activities, and other select clinical outcome measurements. This position serves to assist the medical staff with practitioner specific quality monitoring and reporting.

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Masters degree in clinical healthcare or business preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Certified Public Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Experience in report writing and graphical display preferred.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Applications preferred.
  • Experience preferred in performance improvement methodologies; quality measurement; and data analysis using statistical principles.
  • Prior experience in hospital or clinical management preferred.
  • Computer knowledge preferred.
  • Windows application: Skilled in the use of select Microsoft Office Applications; e . g . Word; Excel and PowerPoint or other database management applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with members of the medical staff.
  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to deliver effective presentations and educations to large groups of physicians and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and the flexibility to accommodate changing priorities.
