Job Description

Overview

This position is responsible for developing and overseeing a systemic program to promote best practices in the physical environment and environmental safety for all healthcare facilities, including hospitals and ambulatory care locations throughout IU Health. Through comprehensive onsite assessments, document/plan reviews, data analysis, advisory consultation and collaboration with facility and system leaders, team members, external agency experts and industry leaders, this individual will seek to identify priorities for improvement and spread of best practice standardization to mitigate physical environment and safety risks. The Program Director ensures education/training, proactive planning, problem-solving and coaching for leaders and team members throughout the enterprise. The incumbent develops and nurtures both internal and external industry relationships with all agencies of having authorities to ensure IU Health facilities perform at the highest levels possible. The role actively advocates with local, state and national agencies and experts on healthcare environmental matters.

Bachelor's degree is required, with a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Healthcare or Architecture preferred.

• Current certifications of CLSS-HC and CHFM are required. CHSP and other healthcare certifications endorsed by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) are preferred.

• Requires 5 or more years of experience in a large enterprise or system healthcare setting.

• Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.

• Must possess superior communication, analytical and large project implementation expertise.
