Are you ready for the most challenging and meaningful work of your life? The ICU Department is seeking nurses who will have the opportunity to collaborate with the brightest minds in medicine.

IU Health West Hospital is a full-service hospital located in Avon, Indiana. We serve the residents of the Indianapolis west side, Hendricks County and beyond. Our magnet designated hospital specializes in life-threatening, emergent, and non-emergent conditions.

The ICU is a 14 private room unit caring for a wide range of patients with Sepsis, GI bleed, Head and Neck Surgery, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure, Stroke and more. The ICU receive patients from the ED, PACU, Cath Lab, transfers from outside hospitals and transfers between in house Medical and PCU units for patients needing higher levels of care. We have highly engaged staff who value teamwork and excellence in patient care.

 Once hired to a department all nurses beginning their RN career will have the opportunity to participate in a Nurse Residency Program called "Transition to IU Health Nursing Practice." The program goals are to provide socialization and support, improve clinical judgment, and promote professional development.

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
