Job Description

Overview

This full time Speech Pathologist will provide outpatient therapy care at Saxony Hospital in Fishers.  Potential diagnoses include stroke, brain injury, head and neck cancer, Parkinson’s disease, or other medical conditions that may result in dysphagia, aphasia, or voice impairments.  This speech pathologist will also have the opportunity to grow the outpatient program at Saxony, allowing the therapist to bring background expertise and clinical passions to the role.  Independence completing Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Studies is essential and experience with Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing is preferred.  Based on outpatient volume and clinical demand, this therapist may also provide services to adult acute care patients at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

 Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is required.  This position requires graduation from an accredited academic program in speech pathology or if foreign trained, graduation from a speech pathology education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA. Requires current license in the State of Indiana within 12 months. Requires a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for this certificate. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
