This position involves providing genetic counseling for individuals seen in the Indiana Familial Cancer Clinic. The genetic counselor in this role will be responsible for assessing germline cancer risks and communicating with families. This will include, but is not limited to, working as part of a care team to obtain personal and family medical history information, requesting and reviewing relevant medical records, and communicating genetic risk factors and clinical implications to families. In addition, the counselor in this role will facilitate genetic testing and be responsible for educating individuals and their families regarding the outcome, including the natural history of the condition and significance for at-risk family members. This role may also involve teaching and overseeing genetic counseling graduate students as well as other learners, educating other health professionals, and connecting with community organizations that serve this patient population. Experienced genetic counselors and those currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program with graduation in the spring of 2022 are welcome to apply.


 Requires Masters degree in Genetic Counseling or Medical Genetics.
• Required to maintain a current Genetic Counselor license in the state of Indiana.
• Requires Board Certification by ABMG/ABGC or Board eligible within 1 year of employment.
• Requires basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
