Overview
Contributes to the ongoing achievement of the organization's patient safety goals through ensuring medical staff and providers are credentialed and privileged at IU Health facilities. Develops and maintains policies and protocols for the credentialing and privileging process in an effort to remain compliant with ongoing developments in the credentialing field as well as continuous quality improvement. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves information, discrepancies, and time gaps that could adversely affect a facility's ability to credential and privilege providers. Partners with medical staff, credentialing and privileging committees, and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance with credentialing standards. Participates in monitoring of ongoing clinical competence of providers. Responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive data in the credentialing software.
