RN Primary Care Telephonic Triage RCS Manager

Job Description


Nurse phone triage manager- RCS plans and implements the overall nursing policies procedures, productivity, and services for a contact center. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Phone triage ensures that the nurse is current on competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and another annual training. In addition, a nurse manager requires an RN license. The Nurse Phone Triage manager- RCS combines clinical experience and contemporary leadership practices with the IU Health Way to achieve excellent outcomes. Accountable for translating and achieving our strategic priorities and outcomes: quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences. Accountable for providing strategic vision and operational planning for assigned unit. Incumbents will lead an inter-professional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes. This role is accountable for advancing nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidenced-base practices and professional nursing standards. 

The ideal candidate will be an RN (Associates or Bachelors) with project management experience.

  • Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership is preferred.
  • Has a high level understanding of Telephonic Triage.
  • Has a high level of understanding of call center metrics.
  • Required current State of Indiana licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  •  At least three years of experience with hospital or physician billing strongly preferred.
  • Requires demonstrable knowledge of healthcare billing terminology concepts and processes.
  • Requires strong knowledge of business and reimbursement management with an undergraduate degree preferred.res the ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources.
  • Requires a high level of interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Requires effective written and verbal communication skills in both individual and group settings
  • Requires the ability to organize and manage work to achieve performance expectations.
  • Requires the ability to promote teamwork and develop team members.
  • Requires ability to manage within the confines of a budget.
  • Requires a passionate commitment to continuous performance improvement.
